While Harrah’s is right in the middle of the strip, it’s been having some difficulties setting itself apart from the other more luxury themed casinos and hotels. But the carnival atmosphere makes it the perfect place for families and singles to get out and enjoy the Las Vegas scene. With the bright colors of the lobby and the lights outside to pull you in, you are instantly taken right into a dizzying selection of slot machines and high stakes table games. It takes a day or two to figure out how to get from your room to anywhere else, but once you figure it out, this is a manageable gambling area, even for a Vegas newbie.
The slots range from penny slots all the way to $5 slots, if you’re interested in trying your luck there. The tables can get pretty high in terms of betting, so donít to these tables unless you have the money to lose. For those who don’t have a lot of money to burn, the many penny slots fill up quickly, but there are generally plenty to go around during the day and in the early evening.
If you want to head outside, you might want to lounge by Harrah’s Olympic sized pool on the sun deck. It’s not really anything too special, but sometimes just sitting by the water can help to cool things down. Or you could head to the Carnaval Court where there are some fun shopping sites to explore. This court is right outside of the hotel, which puts you into the strip, though still on Harrah’s property.
When you’re ready to get something to eat at Harrah’s, you can start your day with Starbucks or head to the popular The Range steakhouse for dinner. Entertainment is always available, even if you’re not sitting in the piano bar ñ Cook E. Jarr and Mac King are regulars.
