When Monte Carlo was first built, it was the seventh biggest hotel, but those days are long gone. While it might not be the biggest hotel anymore, it is certainly impressive in terms of its offerings for guests. After all of the gaudiness of many other Las Vegas hotels, walking into the lobby of Monte Carlo leaves you with a feeling of peace and serenity. The European design is simple and subdued, with colonnades and even arches to guide you through the main areas. You can also find statues that greet you as you enter the actual gaming area. The beautiful chandelier in the main lobby is one that you should not miss.
Interestingly enough, you can get to the guest rooms without having to walk through the casino ñ a rarity in Vegas, but a nice surprise. The rooms themselves are simple in dÈcor, but this only adds to the overwhelming, almost Zen like feeling of the casino and hotel. While the rooms are a little on the small side, they offer you nice accommodations to lay and rest between days of gambling and exploring the strip.
You might want to go down to the pool for a dip during the day or you can head to the fee based health spa to get a little workout in before you hit the restaurants for dinner.
You might want to stop by the Dragon Noodle Co. or Monte Carlo Pub and Brewery for a budget friendly selection of meals. Or you could always try the French cuisine at Andre’s. The Monte Carlo buffet is also a winner for travelers who want the most for their money. The showroom also features national acts, like Lance Burton, a magician.
Rooms at the Monte Carlo start at $99, but if you’re in the mood for a quick wedding, this casino and hotel also offers a convenient wedding chapel.
