New York New York
When you don’t want to head into the Big Apple itself, New York-New York Hotel and Casino is the next best thing. Greeting you from the outside is a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge, well, part of it anyway. You’re also going to get treated to a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty ñ albeit a bit smaller than the real thing, of course. But the glamour of the exterior of New York-New York is undeniable and certainly worthy of a second look. Donít forget about the Empire State Building too.
Once you walk inside, you’re treated to brick walls and large electronic signs that try to emulate Times Square in all of its flashing glory. Though a little dark and enclosed, the area is certainly made to look like you’re walking along the streets, as opposed to in some sort of airy atmosphere ñ just as New York would feel too. The interior is easy to navigate and it certainly helps you feel like you’re somewhere far away from the Nevada desert.
The rooms at New York-New York are decorated in neutral tones, and look more modern and a little less themed as you might expect. But you can still see some city touches as you look around. You get all of the standard amenities you’d expect, as well as a decent walk from your room to any of the tower elevators.
Once you’re inside New York-New York, you’ll want to take some time to explore the arcade games that simulate Coney Island ñ perfect for kids and adults. Or you can head to casino to see if you can make enough money to actually live in Manhattan. The greenery and the street lamps make it seem as though you’re playing slots in Central Park.
Of course, you will want to taste some New York flavor at The Bar at Times Square and Il Fornario. Or you can enjoy the waitresses at Coyote Ugly and the Cirque de Soleil show Zumanity.
Room rates start at $79, but addition guests will tack on $30 each.
